North Lawndale College Preparatory Charter High School (NLCP) is a coed, public charter high school with two campuses located on the west side of Chicago serving 650 students in grades 9-12.

NCLP’s mission is to prepare young people from under-resourced communities for graduation from high school with the academic skills and personal resilience necessary for successful completion of college.   To this end, NLCP will expect nothing less than high academic standards for all students; provide a challenging curriculum, extra resources and the support necessary to achieve those standards; assemble and support a superlative faculty, staff and administration to collaboratively accomplish this task; and serve the wider North Lawndale community.

NLCP is also committed to recruiting and retaining a stellar teaching staff.  Specifically, we are looking for innovative, creative, and dynamic teacher leaders who are unwavering in their quest to provide ALL students with an outstanding academic experience.

NLCP has started the hiring process for the 2010-2011 school year.  Please submit a resume if you wish to be considered for a position for the 2010-11 school year.  The following positions are available:  Assistant Principal; Counselor; Clerk; and teaching positions in the following disciplines – Math, Science, Special Education, English, History, Visual Arts and Librarian.

For the current 2009-10 year the only positions remaining open are for (1) part-time librarian at the Collins Campus and (2) substitute teacher.  If interested in either position please submit a resume.

In addition to having a minimum of Bachelor’s degree, all interested applicants should have multiple years’ urban teaching experience, be a reflective learner, and be receptive to professional feedback and coaching.  Individuals who have experience in extracurricular activities, have advanced certification (i.e. National Board Certification, Golden Apple recipient, etc.), community involvement, curriculum development, and reading instruction are strongly encouraged to apply.
